How to Activate AirDrop on Your Apple Devices
Ensure Compatibility: Make sure both devices support AirDrop. AirDrop is available on iPhones with iOS 7 or later, iPads with iOS 7 or later, and Macs with OS X Lion (10.7) or later.
Turn on Bluetooth and Wi-Fi:
- iPhone/iPad: Swipe up from the bottom of the screen (or down from the top-right corner on iPhones with Face ID) to open the Control Center. Ensure both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are turned on.
- Mac: Click on the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi icons in the menu bar to ensure they are enabled.
Set AirDrop Preferences:
- iPhone/iPad: Open Control Center, and press and hold the network settings card (where the Airplane Mode, Cellular Data, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth icons are located). Tap on the AirDrop icon and select "Everyone," "Contacts Only," or "Receiving Off."

- iPhone/iPad: Open the app containing the file you want to share. Tap the Share icon (a square with an arrow pointing up), and select the device you want to share with from the AirDrop section.
- Mac: Open Finder and select the file you want to share. Drag the file to the AirDrop window, and drop it onto the recipient's icon.
Accepting AirDrop Requests:
- iPhone/iPad: When someone shares a file with you, a notification will appear with options to accept or decline the file. Choose "Accept" to receive the file.
- Mac: A notification will appear in the top-right corner of your screen. Click "Accept" to receive the file.
